Healing Thru Story, Art & Crochet

It has been quite a journey in the world of art and mindfulness these past few months.  My exhibitions have increased as well as being booked to give artist talks and Master classes.  I gave one talk where I actually sat upon a bench crocheting while sharing how art served as a therapeutic process to empower me to assist my mother when she became a quadraplegic.  Ahh, that talk garnered a standing ovation.  I’ve plans for a TedTalk or an NPR Moth Story.

It is through the art of story, the experiencing of art where we transform, where we find healing from the many challenges in our lives.  When we are immersed in the essence of story, of art…Whether we are the artist or the viewer, whether griot or listener…We always emerge shifted, refreshed, ready to move forward.

The foundation of each lies in connecting with one another.  There lies the organic internet of beings where we bond consciously with one another.  It is that deeper space which tickles the soul and opens an inner cavern of comfort, growth and new perspective.  We begin to remember who we are, why we are here and garner a better glimpse of our true life surf board…The one where we ride the wave of love for better understanding of ourselves and others.

Yes, that is the power of storytelling, art and crochet.  It is just that simple.

Engaged in empowering the audience with storytelling, art and crochet as host of the Baldwin Renaissance Art Talk on Long Island (NY).  This was an evening dinner affair which connected and moved all in attendance.

So wonderful to have my work featured during the affair including (left to right):  Deeply  Rooted Copyright 2016 ALICIA EVANS and Frayed Copyrighted 2016 ALICIA EVANS

We begin to remember who we are, why we are here and garner a better glimpse of our true life surf board…When we gather for storytelling, art and…A good meal.šŸ˜‰
